Our Voices Our Choices (OVOC) empowers consumers (children/youth and families) to have true voice and true choice when it comes to seeking services and support for mental health concerns.
OVOC is a family to family peer support network that offers monthly support group meetings for children/youth and their families. During our meetings we empower the family to advocate for the consumers of mental health services.
The meetings are two hours long and begin with families volunteering to share their family’s monthly successes and to participate in family activities. During the second hour, children are separated for an activity and parents remain for enrichment. Families also express their needs and concerns in order to receive information and support from the facilitators and other guests.
